Question 2. \nRetell an episode in the story which is a good example of irony in a situation. \nAnswer: \nThe most ironic episode in the entire story is its end. When Soapy is passing over his childhood home, he has an epiphanous moment. He resolves to change his life, and do something meaningful with it. He pictures himself finding a new job and going to work.<\/p>\n
He is just lost in such thoughts when a cop\u2019s hand lands on his shoulder and asks him what he is doing. He is arrested immediately. The irony here is that just when Soapy is ready for a real change, that opportunity is taken away from him. Through that entire day, he tries to get arrested by doing petty crimes, but each time the cops are indifferent to them.
